First, Twitter made images visible in the stream. I wasn’t surprised at all by this move, and frankly wondered what took them so long.

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve had two examples of social media companies forcing controversial changes on users.

This really drives home how integral the humble www has become to society. The line between tech news and mainstream journalism is blurring.
