I understand the business reasons for why Microsoft is using this approach, but from a UI/UX perspective it seems like a huge mistake.

But I’m HIGHLY skeptical about using the Metro apps or shell on a desktop or laptop. Why would I want a full screen “app” on a 27″ monitor?
